Abstract
During the past 10 years e-recruitment has gained prominence. It is considered as a powerful instrument for attracting candidates to organisations (Jamil & Sopiah, 2022:3250). This study aimed to determine how ease of use and perceived efficiency mediated the relationship between e-recruitment and organisational attraction at a government department. The study adopted the Technology Acceptance Model (Davis, 1989), which is frequently used to analyse information technology acceptability. The method used for the investigation was quantitative. Sampling at random was employed to choose the participants. Data were gathered via a self-compiled survey questionnaire that was sent to Department of Rural Development and Land Reform staff members. The national office of the department, where the researcher also gathered data, returned 107 out of 150 questionnaires, signifying a 71.3% response rate. A statistician from Tshwane University of Technology assisted in the data analysis process, utilising Strata V15 statistical analysis software. A 2010 Microsoft Excel spreadsheet was used to record the data and code it. Ease of use, perceived efficiency, organisational attraction, and e-recruitment received favourable ratings from the respondents.
The findings revealed that organisational attraction, e-recruitment, perceived efficiency, and ease of use were positively and statistically correlated.
This study recommends that comparable be done in other South African government Department that have implemented the e-recruitment system and the applicants’ perceptions be tested when future research is conducted.
